All members of staff receive on-going training to an appropriate professional standard and each subscribes to the home’s policy of individually delivered care plans for clients. Our staff will be well informed about each client’s care needs. We have a duty to provide clients and/or their chosen representatives with clear, accessible information about the care and support we are providing them. |

We are careful to treat all residents as individuals, at the centre of decisions concerning their care and will adapt care to their changing needs and choices. We support personal independence and aim for everyone to enjoy as good a quality of life as they are able. We treat all clients with respect and dignity, focus on positive outcomes and clients overall well-being, and work pro-actively with the members of multi-disciplinary teams who are working to maximise clients’ well-being. Our two chefs provide appetising, nutritious, healthy, balanced menus and can cater for any special dietary requirements. All our food is homemade with good quality ingredients supplied by local suppliers.

Residents can choose to eat in the dining room or in the comfort of their own room. Residents’ families and friends are always welcome to join them in the dining room to dine. We even manage this at the Christmas dinner, despite the dining room not having space for one more chair! Relatives and friends are also welcome to join residents at the various social activities and entertainments. Anyone wishing to know more about Swanland House is welcome to visit us where our staff will be delighted to show you round and discuss with you your particular requirements. We will also give you a copy of our Service User Guide that sets out our care philosophy in full and provides all relevant information about Swanland House and our service.
